Nursing school starts with a test, and for many students that test feels like the biggest hurdle in the whole journey. After years of tutoring students through anatomy, physiology, microbiology, English, and math, I kept seeing the same thing: people who knew more than they thought, but had never practiced the way the exam asks questions.
4NURS is the tutoring I wish every student had: clear lessons, lots of practice, and an explanation behind every answer so you learn from each question, not just score it.
Why it took me over two years
I took the TEAS myself back in 2019. When ATI released a new version of the exam in 2022, it became a bit more complex than the one I had taken, so I closed my original program rather than keep offering something that wasn’t up to date. I decided to reopen it only once I felt the new website was current and I was satisfied with it. That took me more than two years, and I gave it a lot of detail, down to the explanation behind every answer choice.
How I studied for the TEAS
When I started looking at study resources for the TEAS, there were so many that it was hard to choose. Every option promised to be the best one, and it was hard to tell what would actually cover what the exam tests.
So I stopped comparing and wrote down every objective tested on the TEAS, then studied them one by one until every objective was covered.
That approach worked for me, and it’s how this website is built. We cover the objectives tested on the TEAS, section by section, so you’re not guessing what to study or wondering what you missed.
What keeps me going
It has been very fulfilling. When I cross paths with RN students during their clinical days, some of them come up to me and tell me they got into the RN program because they used my website. That’s what this is all about, and it’s what I hope to keep hearing from you.
Why practice questions work
Practice questions helped me a lot to recall subjects. Pulling answers out of my own memory, instead of just rereading notes, is what made the concepts stick for me.
Knowing the rationale helped just as much. Understanding why each of the other choices was wrong taught me more than getting the right answer alone. That’s why every question on 4NURS comes with an explanation for every answer choice.
Practicing this way also puts you in a test-taking mentality. By the time the big day arrives, reading a question, weighing the choices, and picking an answer feels familiar instead of stressful.
And a lot of the objectives come with a small video of me teaching that topic, so you can hear it explained before you practice it.
I still work as a nurse, so what I teach is shaped by real patient care, not just textbooks. I know how it feels to be new, to doubt yourself, and to want someone to simply explain it clearly.
My goal is simple: help you walk into your exam feeling ready, and then walk into your first shift feeling confident.
